Why does “Gas + Groceries” matter? Since the average commute for workers in most Northeast Georgia communities is 24 minutes and there is no public transportation safety net, gas for the car is NOT optional – it is a requirement for getting to and holding a job. Quite often women in need are placed in the position of having to choose between putting gas in the car, feeding their children, paying the rent, buying medicine, etc.
Building a Path Forward helps women and single mothers take steps toward long-term stability and independence through workforce support and community resource connections.
